One thing I have learned from research into the origin of Zionism and Zionist-Gov, is that those in support of this Apartheid-Regime I’ve found in forum/blog texting the most deceitful and dishonest people I have ever dealt with in my entire 75-years of life.
Their leaders in the Zionist-Gov holding core position are people I would not allow near my home or family, and they if possible are less honest than their twisted supporter’s.
Because of the internet today, reports are escaping the US-Media censorship, fake Zionist Rabbi such as the two that wrote “The Kings Torah” that claim murdering Gentile/Palestine babies is permited by God… because they will only grow up to become enemy… is example of the total absents of any Torah understanding. Their Rabbi Mafia in NY/NJ caught in sting illegally selling body-parts (laundering money back thru Sate of Israel) is example of this sickness.

I concur with Donovin that our Corp-Gov no longer representing US-citizen’s have become little more than well paid whore’s, and this policy including alignment with the Zionist-Gov in the State of Israel endangers both Americans and Jewish around the world.
Certainly the truth about the US Corp-Gov illegal and immoral operations in the Middle East are finally (thanks to internet) escaping the Four-Mega Media censorship, and the whoredom of our Gov will become a point of severe revolt against our apparent ruling class.
If I would make one point about the man made Zionist-State, devout Jewish world wide have rejected Zionism longer than any peoples on earth, and although censored from media-reports, continue rejecting Zionism to this very instant.

I believe the number of imprisoned Palestinians by the State of Israel-government is said closer as reported by Palestinians to 6,000 men, women, and children.
Perrhaps it is from more secret prisons such as Facility-1391 involved in torture ending at times in death that the 1,000 number in this article may have some validity.
The question asked in the article, being security need of the nation State of Israel, is what part of the 78-80% of occupied Palestine is being referred to.

This comment is a fake one, made in my name by some trickster. I have not written this comment. It is Israel that holds the key to who crosses the Erez checkpoint. Many Palestinians (including children) have died because they have not been let through for urgent medical treatment. Egypt is under the thumb of both Israel and the US, which threatens to end US aid if Egypt does not follow the Israeli line.

Those who signed the resolution were extremely irresponsible. Giving Israel a green light to attack could have serious economic consequences. Inevitably, a conflict involving Iran will adversely affect the flow of oil through the Persian Gulf. The last thing we need is skyrocketing oil prices. Unfortunately, to AIPAC, and its whores in Congress, the well-being of our country and its citizens is secondary at best. Such traitors should never have been allowed to dictate our policy.

Wars are so easy to start but so difficult to end, or just to escape. I think about all the lives, American, Afghani and Iraqi that have been lost and all the money spent while, in Washington, the president and his sage advisors hold meetings to decide on policy. Would this move look bad on the world stage? Would that move be better? What will country A do if we do this or that? Grand schemes are debated against the oh-so-terrible thought of cut and run! Our prestige! Our reputation!

In years past, I was hopeful that a lesson had been learned with the Vietnam fiasco. But it only takes time to bring in a new set of arrogant wielders of great power and new driving ideas like “American Exceptionalism” that are really the old hubris in new clothing.

The grunts who volunteer to die for their country are dispatched and sacrificed while the high and mighty eventually leave office and retire to comfortable homes (note the plural). The young who died get grave markers and the elderly living who had the big ideas get such things as another in a long series of heart operations to keep them going.

The worst thing about great power is the itch to use it. Then come the years of writhing about how to withdraw after the foolishness is clear. A bunch of maniacs fly planes into buildings and all hell breaks loose for two countries that couldn’t be more remote, more alien to Americans, in particular to the big chief who strutted around barking “you are with us or against us?” and “bring it on!”. So we revenge ourselves by ravaging countries as unknown to us in language, culture and politics as could possibly be in the name of that infinitely flexible and reliable term – national security.

Half of the periods of our latest wars have been finessing the exit so that we think we look good, though the entire world looks on undeceived and aghast.

With all the celebration in 1989 as the USSR crumbled, I was anxious that the U.S. was being a little too haughty. Never did I think it would come to this. In terms of wasted lives, resources, and goodwill the first 10 years of the new century for the United States have been an epic disaster. But let’s not be too quick to withdraw!

I agree, Clif, that many holding and not holding leadership positions proclaim they desire peace while at the same time promoting actions which undermine peace. However, I believe that if the desire for peace exists within substantial segments of the Jewish-Israeli, American Jewish, Arab and Palestinian communities then we should never lose hope. Yes their visions of peace are radically different and provide almost insurmountable blocks. But I think that recognizing the common basic desire for peace is essential to re-invigorating real potential for peace and discrediting defensive stances on both sides.

Peace is so much desired that the word itself can be used as a smokescreen to cover a continuous process of land acquisition by one side and loss of that land by another.

Would you say that there is “peace” in the occupied territories at present? There are no armies in battle, no formal “hostilities” with active front lines.

Termites, who tunnel within a piece of wood until there is no body to the wood behind the surface, can do their work without disturbance, yet the wood is lost as surely as if it had been set aflame.

The most skillful conqueror will constantly speak of peace and the need to defend himself. The United States perfected the method in the 19th century and all that remains of Native-American lands that covered the continent are isolated reservations and thousands of interesting place-names.
